With the Qbic TDD-1000, Concept International introduces a new type of smart office device for hybrid work and new work: an advanced docking station for two 4K screens with a small, light sensor-controlled touchscreen and AndroidOS. A clever helper that combines desk booking, resource management, and workplace technology in one device. The NFC-enabled terminal charges a connected notebook with up to 100W PD and is now available in three versions: with an optional 15-watt wireless charger, a long-range NFC reader, or an Apple-compatible NFC reader. This means that the log-in transponder can stay in your pocket or your iPhone can be used to record working hours.
The Qbic TDD-1000 is placed on the desk like a simple docking station and can be quickly connected to power and monitors, making it flexible to use. With its compact dimensions (21.5 x 16.3 cm), it takes up only half the space of a DIN A5 pad. The integrated 3.9-inch direct bonding touch display clearly shows the desired Android app and can be operated via touch, NFC tag, or smartphone/computer.
Smart connection with real power
What makes it special: The TDD-1000 is not only an Android terminal with a wide range of app options, e.g., as an advertising space, for promoting special offers in cafés, or for time recording and workplace booking, it is also a full-fledged USB-C hub with fast charging function and offers some remarkable features:
- USB-C port with 100 W power for computers and peripherals
- USB-A ports for mouse, headset, card reader, etc.
- Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless peripherals
- 1 Gbit/s LAN port
- WLAN 5
- Wireless charging with 15 W for smartphones or smartwatches (depending on model)
- Connection of up to two screens (4K) via (1 x HDMI, 1 x DP)
- External 19V power supply
The comprehensive IO port on the rear offers nine connections (1 USB-C with fast charging function up to 100 W, 1 USB-C, 2 USB-A 2.0, 1 Micro-USB with ADB, 1 HDMI 2.0, 1 DisplayPort 1.4, 1 LAN connection, and power connection). Another well-thought-out detail: all cables snap securely into place behind a cover. This relieves strain on the contacts and makes the docking station particularly suitable for everyday use, durable, and reliable for desk bookings. The two USB-C ports and one USB-A port on the front are also practical for everyday use.
Booking ad hoc or in advance
The 3.9-inch touch display shines with a maximum brightness of 400 nits, which is slightly brighter than a standard office monitor: so even when the sun shines into the office, it’s no problem. A daylight sensor adjusts the display to the current lighting conditions for maximum comfort. The intuitive LED display shows at a glance whether a workstation is booked, reserved, or available. In addition to traditional advance booking via laptop or smartphone, the device supports spontaneous bookings directly at the workstation with optional additional software, such as Zeitwart.
Compatible, secure, and updatable
The terminal runs on security-optimized Android 13. Like all Qbic devices, it offers access to a rich software ecosystem, such as Zeitwart, for seamless integration into existing room and workplace management systems. Regular security patches ensure enterprise-level stability and data protection – something Qbic is known for.
“The TDD-1000 is not just a docking station with a display, but the first truly platform-independent, smart docking station that can be integrated into common room, space, and calendar solutions. Versatile, future-proof, and perfect for system integrators who want to offer their customers innovative solutions,” says Marco Lippert, Product Manager at Concept International. Even an Android phone becomes a powerful workstation with the docking station and connected peripherals, in line with the “bring your own device” concept. Samsung DeX and Android’s desktop mode already offer this feature.
Support for smart protocols also allows other functions to be controlled, such as switching the heating on and off or adjusting the blinds when checking in.
