The Munich-based S12 GmbH designs sound concepts for brands aiming at an unmistakable and purchase-supporting atmosphere for shops and business premises. For the in-store music in entire chains of stores, GIADA Players from the CONCEPT portfolio were selected. The winning argument, besides the reliable technology, was the long-term support.
The Requirement: Designing In-store Music and Delivering it Technically
S12 offers brands such as Audi and Marc O’Polo a comprehensive range of services. Individual sound samples and custom-fit playlists are created for customer groups and sales environments. In addition to the design, S12 also takes care of the technical implementation and support. Playlists designed for chain stores are provided via a specially developed software-as-a-service solution. To ensure smooth playback, technicians install the appropriately configured media players on site.
For best results, the company wanted long-term supported devices and a reliable distribution partner. The previously tested solutions, including consumer hardware, had not been convincing: after 2 to 3 years, the support by the manufacturers ended. This initially increased the maintenance effort by installing updates. Eventually, the players had to be replaced completely.
The Solution: Compact and Fanless Players for 24-Hour Operation
In his need for a solution with long-term support, S12 Managing Director Ralf Drotleff came across the Chinese manufacturer GIADA. Their players are distributed by CONCEPT International. The choice fell on the GIADA F200, a compact model that works without a fan and is suitable for 24-hour operation. As a value added distributor (VAD), CONCEPT was able to ensure long-term support.
“The shapely, minimalist design of the players makes a high-quality impression right from the start; you simply notice a difference in comparison to the devices that are developed for consumers. In addition, there are hardly ever any difficulties with operation at our customers’ premises. But should this occur, we can be sure to get immediate support from the CONCEPT International team.”
