With the new Qbic-Luminen-Pro series, Concept International is expanding its smart office portfolio to include versatile touchscreen PCs with automatic brightness adjustment. These devices simplify sophisticated, AI-powered building and room control systems and offer CAN and KNX bus compatibility. These smart screens combine a touchscreen, a gateway with I/O ports, and a miniserver in a single device. They control media technology, lighting, climate, blinds, doors, and windows in smart buildings, office complexes, hotels, residential environments, and—thanks to their antimicrobial surface—even in hospitals.
A presence sensor, camera, and microphone with Active Noise Control, combined with AI-powered features, enable personalized, intuitive operation and secure access control. The intelligent heating and environmental control system—connected via KNX, for example—supports sustainable building management. “With Luminen Pro, we combine sophisticated and robust technology with an appealing design and premium materials—for flexible, efficient, and smart room control in all applications,” says Marco Lippert, Strategic Account Manager at Concept International.
Sophisticated Technology and Integration
The MediaTek Genio 510 processor with six cores ensures smooth and powerful performance: four ARM Cortex-A55 cores combined with two A78 cores, plus an NPU with 3.2 TOPS—enough for Active Noise Control and GDPR-compliant, fast facial recognition on the device itself. The built-in web server (4 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM) runs either Android 13 or Linux Yocto. The Luminen Pro Panel PC is available in two display sizes: 10 and 15.6 inches. It can be flush-mounted into walls, used as a desktop terminal, or as a freestanding unit. PoE support—i.e., power delivery via the Ethernet cable—reduces installation effort; cleverly routed, flush-mounted connections ensure a simple and elegant installation.
The two smaller models (5.5-inch and 8-inch) in the Qbic Luminen Basic Series are still available. All panel PCs feature Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, multi-sensor technology, and NFC access control. A free management platform from the manufacturer for updates, remote control, and remote configuration rounds out the offering. KNX and CAN bus compatibility enables a wide range of applications, from smart homes to industrial settings and vehicles.
The Qbic Luminen Basic Series, equipped with ARM quad-core Cortex-A53 processors, also delivers sufficient performance to handle the monitoring and control of complex systems in industrial settings. With up to 2.3 TOPS from the Neural Processing Unit—that is, 2.3 trillion operations per second—fast user identification, authentication, security functions, and AI-powered applications can be handled with ease.
Price, Availability, and Service
Qbic Luminen Pro is available now. Net prices are 1,250 euros for the 10-inch screen size and 1,590 euros for the 15.6-inch model. The Luminen base models are priced at 490 euros for the 5.5-inch version and 875 euros for the 8-inch variant. Upon request, Concept International handles project-specific configurations as part of its Total Preparation Service, including endurance testing and roll-out support. The warranty is two years, optionally extendable to five years. Special terms for resellers are available upon request.
