Whether for shop windows, indoor steles, or ceiling mounting, the new Butterfly series from FutureLED offers double-sided LED technology with a depth of only 60 mm. Ultra-thin, modular, with individually selectable pixel pitch and brightness, the LED walls are now available from VAD Concept International.
The highlight of Butterfly is the image output with two modules on the front and back, suitable for different content in different brightness levels. For example, in shop windows with high radiance to the outside and adjusted luminosity to the inside. The 500 x 500 mm cabinets are only 60 mm thin in the double-sided version. This makes the cabinets with two monitors appear almost weightless. This is made possible by the clever design with an integrated housing that integrates the entire control technology for both sides.
Light as a butterfly, robust as a beetle
Thanks to optional GOB (glue on board) coating or the even more homogeneous and brighter COB (chip on board) architecture, the modules are antistatic, dust-proof, moisture-proof, and shock-resistant, and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. The modules can even withstand a bump from a backpack or shopping cart without any problems. Alternatively, if less robustness is required, cost-effective SMD modules are also available.
The housings are made of sturdy aluminum and can be seamlessly joined together. A ready-to-use cabinet weighs only 7.25 kg. This allows for “floating” installations even in small shop windows without being visually obtrusive. Matching hanging strips are available as accessories. All components are fully accessible from both sides for installation and maintenance, regardless of the configuration.
Two sides, many possibilities
The double-sided design is not a marketing gimmick, but a real plus for installations with two possible viewing directions, such as freestanding steles. With its low weight and minimal space requirements, the Butterfly series opens up new design and installation possibilities.
The modules can be configured in different ways – for example, in shop windows: with high brightness and a larger pixel pitch on the shop window side (e.g., 3.9 mm, 3,500 nits) and a finer pixel pitch with lower luminance (e.g., 1.5 mm, 800 nits) on the interior side.
With up to 3,500 nits, indoor applications are more than covered. A contrast ratio of 6,000:1 and high grayscale (14–16 bits) ensure a clearly defined, high-contrast display.
