The new cPad from Sunmi, the global market leader for smart Android terminals, brings the award-winning design and excellent manageability of its successful handheld devices to a new form factor: stylish yet robust, universally applicable tablets for a very wide range of applications that can be seamlessly integrated into most business workflows. It works quickly and reliably, for example, as a smart cash register in restaurants and retail, as a check-in terminal in hotels, as an inventory aid in kiosks, as a logistics pad in warehouses, or even as a human-machine interface in industry. Germany’s longest-serving Sunmi distributor, Munich-based VAD Concept International, now has the robust and stylish Android tablet in three display sizes (8.7, 11, and 14 inches) in its product range.
The two larger versions, 11 and 14 inches, are particularly beneficial for the industrial and logistics sectors: they have arrived at just the right time, as Android is becoming increasingly relevant in industrial applications compared to the previous Windows tablets. And with these slightly larger tablets, users now have a new, powerful mobile HMI at their fingertips that, for example, shows them detailed machine settings in high resolution in the production hall and, with Android 14, will remain future-proof for at least 5 years.
In retail, restaurants, and hotels, the cPad is not only ideal as a fully-fledged mobile cash register including SoftPOS for card and mobile payments. The 8.7-inch version in particular is also in demand for guest check-in: this tablet size has often been lacking in the industry and can also be used as a stationary POS terminal on an innovative swiveling multifunctional docking station.
Technical specifications
Inside the Sunmi cPad is an octa-core processor (up to 2.4 GHz) with 4 GB RAM (optional 8 GB) and 64 GB ROM/SSD (optional 128 GB). It runs on the Android 14 operating system. Its extensive basic features include an expanded micro SD card slot (up to 256 GB), GPS, NFC including the special Mifare standard, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi (1/2.4/5/6 GHz) with 2×2 MIMO, LED display, a front camera (8 MP) plus a rear camera (8 or 13 MP), and a permanently installed powerful lithium polymer battery (4.45V/8000 mAh). With two USB-C ports and plenty of pogo pins, the smart tablet has numerous connection options for the extensive range of accessories.
Extensive range of accessories
The extensive catalog of optional features for the Sunmi cPad includes fingerprint authentication, a 2D scanner, and LTE with eSIM, which allows the device to go online without Wi-Fi if necessary. In conjunction with Sunmi’s mini access point, “Hyper Wi-Fi” can also be activated, which increases the connection range to up to one kilometer or 2000 square meters of warehouse or restaurant space. Various hand straps and shoulder straps are available for mobile use. Rubberized protective covers are available for rougher environments, and the device itself is splash-proof and works smoothly even at minus 10 degrees Celsius. The accessories catalog also includes wall mounts and snap-in vehicle mounts that can be mounted on forklifts, for example. Table stands for desks and various docking stations, such as for cash registers—including a version with a printer—turn the cPad into a fully functional stationary device.
Service and price
Rollouts can also be prepared via the cloud using the Sunmi Cloud’s Mobile Device Management (MdM) system – even for Google Enterprise applications, as the tablet is Google GMS-certified. On request, value-added distributor Concept International can take care of project rollouts as part of its Total Preparation Service and offer project-specific configurations. The recommended retail price starts at €320 net for the 8.7-inch version with Wi-Fi, €510 for the 11.6-inch version with LTE and integrated 2D barcode scanner, and €650 for the large 14-inch tablet with LTE. Other versions are available; dealer prices are available on request. Concept International’s service also includes a three-year warranty, which can be optionally extended to five years.
