Munich, August 04, 2023 – With the 80 mm thermal receipt printer Xprinter Q801k, Munich-based value-added distributor Concept International is adding a specialist for harsh environments to its product range. The order and customer receipt printer does particularly well in the catering industry.

In catering kitchens, things are often hot – in the truest sense of the word. But not only that, it’s also damp wet, cramped, and the grease splatters. Not a particularly easy workplace, not for the people, not for the technology. Even the indispensable order receipt printers have to withstand a lot here. With the Q801k from Xprinter, however, Concept International now has a thermal printer in its range for which the gastro kitchen seems to be a comfort zone. With its mobile data transfer, it also offers further advantages for the requirements of the catering industry, especially for beer gardens and the like.

Why mobile?

A special feature of the Xprinter is its Bluetooth and WLAN connectivity. This not only reduces annoying and cumbersome cable clutter, but also gives staff more freedom: the print command can come from up to 15 meters away, for example from the mobile checkout. The radius can also be extended with amplifier stations. Particularly large open areas can be better served by having several Q801k, distributed over stations, cover different service sectors. This saves waiters and waitresses a lot of walking miles. Unlimited devices, including mobile devices such as handhelds or cash registers, can be connected via WLAN – and the Internet connection allows web orders.

Of course, the thermal printer for customer and order receipts can also be integrated into the peripherals via USB, serial or LAN.

Performance and data

Not only is the printer robust and, weighing in at one kilo, stable even in hectic everyday use, it also has an automatic cutter that is good for 1.5 million cuts. It also prints at 260 mm per second, which is 30 percent faster than the industry standard. The print head lasts at least 180 kilometers, which is also above average. Overheating protection for the print head shows that the manufacturer knows what is required in everyday use, as do the accessories suitable for everyday use, such as cable covers or optional wall installation.

“But the big seller is the price/performance ratio,” says Steffen Schwenk, Business Development Manager for POS and printers at Concept International: “The Q801k has mobile communication, is extremely robust, prints quickly with an automatic cutter, and is compatible with all operating systems – for a top price!” In addition, Schwenk says Xprinter is popular with customers because of its plug-and-play: “There are no complicated settings here, you can get started right away.”
