At the summit meeting of the international digital signage industry, the DSSE, which will take place from May 21 to 23 at the Hilton Munich Airport, Munich-based VAD Concept International will present the latest development of its own brand FutureLED alongside new DS PCs from Giada and ePaper door signage from Qbic: MicroMESH, a transparent LED fabric that can be used creatively in a wide variety of room situations with extreme flexibility. As another highlight of the FutureNUC brand, Concept International will showcase its new Essential series, which is equipped with ChromeOS and is set to cause a sensation under the name Flexbox.
The versatility of the transparent LED mats in the MicroMESH series from FutureLED opens up new design possibilities for the digital signage industry: as digital partitions or free-floating displays, they enable new, creative design concepts, and even glass fronts can be made semi-transparent with them. The MicroMESH LED mats are woven from a fine glass fiber mesh, with light-emitting diodes attached at the intersections. The distance between the LEDs is variable from 3.5 to 10 millimeters (pixel pitch), enabling a wide range of applications from high-resolution displays to facade projections that are visible from a distance. The space between the glass fiber mesh remains visible and wind-permeable. The standard size is 1.50 x 0.25 meters, and the flexible mats can be expanded modularly and seamlessly with metal clips, allowing surfaces of any size to be designed and cut to size.
FutureNUC Essential & Flexbox: Concepts’ flattest signage player
The FutureNUC Essential is an ultra-compact PC that offers versatile application possibilities with its slim design and included VESA mount. It impresses with an unbeatable price-performance ratio and is ideal for projects with a limited budget – while still offering good performance thanks to the latest Intel N150 with 3.6 GHz quad-core CPU. “The Flexbox version with ChromeOS Flex has proven to be superior to Windows systems and scores points for its stability, integrated remote maintenance, and significantly higher uptime. It’s a real game changer,” says Mike Finckh, Managing Director of Concept International. Both models are practical and sustainable solutions for digital signage networks.
Giada BQ614: powerful generalist with socketed desktop CPU
From the range of new Giada DS players, Concept International is putting the Giada BQ614 in the spotlight at DSSE: This powerful generalist is a mini PC with a 14th generation socketed desktop CPU and, thanks to DDR5 memory, is entirely focused on performance. It has numerous connection options, including seven USB and two LAN ports (1 x with 2.5 GbE), making it ideally equipped for all demanding digital signage requirements. A special feature of the BQ614 is the warning message that appears when the computer cover is opened: the process is recorded in the BIOS and reported to a network management system, and the user is warned the next time the computer is started. Giada’s JAHC technology ensures 24/7 availability, including a watchdog that automatically reboots the system if there is a problem with the software.
Giada DN25: versatile and budget-friendly Raspberry Pi 5 player
With the Giada DN25, the Munich-based VAD has launched a versatile and budget-friendly Raspberry Pi media player for the digital signage sector: With its high-performance computing power and two 4K/60Hz HDMI video outputs, the player enables demanding multimedia playback on two screens in 4K resolution for retail and kiosk systems in public spaces, as well as at trade fair stands or in museums, in reliable, energy-efficient 24/7 operation. Thanks to the low power consumption of the built-in Raspberry Pi 5 Compute Module, the fanless Giada DN25 is particularly energy-efficient and low-maintenance, and its compact metal housing (116 x 106 x 30 mm) makes it ideal for projects in confined spaces.
Giada F109D: Compact book-size player for smooth 24/7 operation
Concept International presents the Giada F109D, a powerful DS player in a compact book-size format. The fanless embedded player is ideal for 24/7 operation in steles, kiosks, self-service terminals, or behind monitors in public spaces. Thanks to new Twin Lake processors, the fanless computer offers high performance combined with high energy efficiency and a good price-performance ratio. With an aluminum cooling fin attachment, it operates reliably and silently even in warm and dusty environments, for example behind panels or wall coverings.
Qbic ePaper displays: Intelligent room planning tools with return channel
Concept International will also be showcasing Qbic’s innovative ePaper displays at the DSSE stand: unlike other common room signage systems, Qbic ePaper displays have a return channel in the form of three freely programmable buttons in white, black, and red. This allows users to note, for example, whether and by whom the room or workspace is already occupied at the desired time, or what technical equipment or catering is required for the respective meeting. The room planning and management tool can be easily attached wirelessly to various surfaces – whether on the glass pane of a cubicle, a concrete wall, or a wooden table. The batteries of the maintenance-free displays last at least three years.
The digital signage experts from Concept International will be at the Digital Signage Summit Europe (DSSE) from May 21 to 23 at booth 13 in the Hilton Munich Airport.
