Door signs help visitors find their way and organize spaces. A common weak point, however, is the complex setup involving cabling and access points, as well as maintenance and administration. FutureSIGN Meet, a 7.5-inch two- or four-color display with energy-efficient electronic ink, offers new possibilities: With its completely wireless installation and simple integration via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, Wi-Fi 6, 802.11ax) into existing networks, the effort required for installation, integration, and operation of the information displays is minimal.
The room signage, well-protected by a concealed anti-theft mechanism, can be completely removed from the magnetic mount and charged via USB-C or a charging cradle. What makes this unique is that the wall mount—not the display—handles the assignment to the respective room. If a “low battery” message is reported to the central system, the display can simply be swapped out for a charged one and will work immediately. No display configuration or manual assignment is required, because the assignment to the display’s location is defined by the electronic ID in the mount.
Open Interface for Calendar and Booking Systems
Meet supports integration with popular calendar and booking systems. These include Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, Microsoft Graph, Google Workspace, Apple iCloud, CalDAV, ICS, and other applications via a REST API. This allows companies to continue using their existing calendar and booking systems and avoid being locked into proprietary platforms. The necessary interfaces, cloud services, and centralized device management are provided as the FutureSIGN service, which also enables remote administration.
The always-legible e-ink displays consume power only when the image or information changes and are powered by a rechargeable battery, not the disposable button cells typically used. With hourly updates to the displays during normal business hours, the battery life is over five years according to the manufacturer—a record-breaking figure for Wi-Fi displays. The central dashboard allows you to monitor the charge level (including warning messages), Wi-Fi connection, and other telemetry data for the door signs and mounts. This means that necessary maintenance tasks, such as recharging, don’t come as a surprise but can be planned in advance.
The display features a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels on a 7.5-inch E-Ink screen, available either in black-and-white with an image refresh time of two seconds or as a four-color version (black, white, red, and yellow) with an image refresh time of 20 seconds. The viewing angle is 180 degrees, ensuring that the anti-glare door signs are always perfectly legible from any direction. Unlike LCD displays, power is consumed only when the image or individual image areas change. The displayed content remains highly visible at all times, even without a power supply, whether in direct sunlight, in deep shadows, or in low-light conditions.

FutureSIGN Meet door signs are now available from Concept International. List prices range from 395 (two-color) to 429 (four-color) euros net (MSRP), plus cloud costs, which are free for the first year. Distribution partners benefit from special terms and services, such as rollout support as part of the Total Preparation Services and configuration of the selected content management system. Concept also offers an optional extended warranty of up to five years.
